Peter Hotze was born 12 Oct. 1836 at Innsbruck in the Austrian Tyrol and died 12 Apr. 1909 in Little Rock, Ark. He was the son of Wolfgang Reinart Hotze and Mary Sophia Hotze. In 1856 he came to the U.S. and settled in Little Rock early in 1857 where he engaged in the general merchandise business. He was a member of the Capital Guards, which became Company A of the Sixth Arkansas Regiment, of General Cleburne's division during the Civil War.
